Cooperation with business entities is one of the Departments priorities. We have been cooperating with major national corporations, among others: in the fuel sector Lotos, PKN Orlen, PERN "Friendship", Naftoport and Trzebinia Refinery. In the energy sector, Kozienice Power Plant, Power Plant Belchatow, Tauron, the Polish Energy Networks, in the sector of water and sanitation work, with SAUR Neptun Gdańsk, municipal enterprise of water supply and sanitation in Krakow and Warsaw, Gdańsk water and sevage infrastructure. The Department also performs technological research for small and medium-sized enterprises of a diverse profile. So far (since 1996) we performed more than 300 such studies and expertises.
We perform research studies in the full range of corrosion and corrosion protection. We specialize in cathodic protection design for underground and underwater facilities, assessment of the impact of stray current on corrosion and modeling in electrochemical protection. An important issue is the selection and testing of paint systems that operate in a particularly aggressive corrosive environments. We offer expertises for the assessment of the current state of coatings, causes of degradation and forecasting of real-time operation of coatings. Diagnostics of corrosion damage is a fundamental step in the elimination of corrosion processes. In this regard, we posses a wide experience, in particular on pitting corrosion, intergranular corrosion, corrosion cracking, corrosion fatigue, cavitation erosion-corrosion and selective corrosion. We offer maintenance-free, digital corrosion monitoring systems, allowing for rational management of corrosion. Our offer includes the selection and evaluation of the performance of corrosion inhibitors, a complete metallographic, microscopic and spectroscopic analysis of the surface.
The Deparment conducts research studies in collaboration with various industry entities in the field of corrosion monitoring and diagnostics, electrochemical protection and anti-corrosion coatings and linings. An important element of cooperation is the detection and analysis of electromagnetic fields, new cathodic protection stations and the current assessment of coatings and linings.
